My name is Paul Heney—I’m a longtime journalist and father of two young boys, ages 3 and 9. Given that my wife works weekends, I’m usually home with the boys, and we love to explore all the things that the Cleveland area and Northeast Ohio has to offer.

We’ve been checking out museums, parks, festivals, lakes, and more for years. Now, NEO Kids will follow some of our adventures, to help you see Northeast Ohio from a kids point of view. I’ve been inspired by Laura Clark’s wonderful L.A. Story blog, please check it out!

Upcoming posts will cover a lot of fun things that we’ve discovered for kids to do, including these favorites of ours:

• Train Day at the Cleveland Metroparks
• African Safari Wildlife Park
• Memphis Kiddie Park
• The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo
• Findlay Lake State Park
• Cedar Point

That said, I’d love for this blog to be an interactive one. I welcome your thoughts, opinions, suggestions, comments—anything you wish to throw our way or share with other area parents. Just as we like to share our favorites, we’re always on the lookout for other parents’ and kids’ ideas.

Here’s to a great summer with the kids!
